Overview
Since its founding in 1987, CONA has consistently focused on the use of solar energy and biomass. As a result, both the hot water supply and the heating of the company building are 100% powered by these sources.
Solar drying technology is a special development by CONA, which is now being successfully used in numerous countries to dry over a hundred different products – including wood, coffee, fruits, medicinal herbs, and biomass.
For this innovative strength, CONA has already received several awards in the past, such as the EUROSOLAR Prize, the Solidarity Prize, and the Eduard Ploier Prize. In the current year of 2026, the company was able to celebrate two further significant successes: CONA won the “Energie Genie 2026” award as well as the Silver Export Prize in the commerce category.
Despite its geographical and climatic location, Austria is one of the most active users of solar energy. Thermal utilization, in particular, is very widespread here, putting Austria in first place within Europe. Against this backdrop, CONA primarily uses its drying technology in Austria and Germany for biomass, hay, and grain drying.
